A Silver Cap Beer Nerds project that brought the Seattle craft beer community together to fight food insecurity.
In 2020 and 2021, we organized charity beer raffles to support families facing food insecurity in the Pacific Northwest. Donors contributed to Hopelink or Northwest Harvest and received raffle entries for rare and sought-after craft beers donated by the community.
The raffles brought together beer enthusiasts who shared bottles from their personal collections. Prize packages included beers from Cantillon, Floodland, Anchorage, Holy Mountain, Fremont, Fair Isle, and other notable breweries, plus brewery memberships and gift cards.
Our inaugural year exceeded all expectations. The craft beer community showed up in force, proving that good beer and good deeds go hand in hand.
Building on the previous year's momentum, we expanded with more prize packages, more donors, and even more generous contributions to local food banks.
Every dollar raised went directly to these organizations.
To everyone who donated bottles, contributed money, or helped spread the word: thank you. The Seattle beer community showed up for our neighbors when they needed it most.
